What better way to start the day than with a batch of these warm, fluffy and chocolately Nutella Cinnamon Croissants! Perfect for the upcoming winter months.
Now I’ll admit they are definitely not my prettiest creations but my oh my do they taste like heaven. And they’re super quick to whip up for breakfast or even dessert on short notice. Here is what you’ll need:
- Ready Rolled Puff Pastry
- A Jar of Nutella
- Ground Cinnamon
- Crushed Nuts (Optional)
And that’s it!
Begin by unrolling your puff pastry on a flat surface.
Cut the pastry into thirds, or fourths depending on how big or small you want your croissants. Then cut them into triangles.
Scoop a bit of Nutella onto each triangle leaving a slight gap around the edges as it will spread once in the oven. Sprinkle some cinnamon on top of each triangle.
Roll the triangles starting from the wide end and ending at the narrow end. Hopefully, yours turn out looking much prettier than mine! Stick them in the oven at around 150-200°C for 20-30 mins or until they start to turn brown.
And voila! Easy peasy! I think this is a great treat for the upcoming winter months. Dip them in a cup of hot chocolate or (my favourite) have alongside some green tea. Store them for up to a week and just warm them in the microwave to melt the Nutella once again. Yum!
An optional addition is to sprinkle some chopped nuts before rolling into croissants. Don’t fancy croissants? Instead of cutting the thirds (or fourths) roll them up straight as an alternative. You can even experiment with various fillings!
I do hope my next attempt at this is a lot more visually pleasing.
