I last visited Mumbai when I was just five or six years old so returning to one of (if not the) the uber cool cities of India after twenty years was definitely a trip to remember!
I like to think of Mumbai as the L.A of India. Effortlessly cool, relaxed and the home of Bollywood of course! It’s unlike anywhere else I’ve been in this country and feels almost as though you’re not in India at all. Yes, the crowds, the noise and intensity of the surroundings are all still there but there’s a slightly different vibe here. People are incredibly relaxed, friendly and optimistic and there is definitely a buzz in the air. Below are some snapshots of this eclectic city which I hope I was able to capture in all its glory!
I spent a good three days here, residing in South Mumbai in the majestic Taj Mahal Hotel which is just a few steps away from The Gateway of India. A hotel rich in history and glamour with stunning views of The Gateway and the Arabian Sea.
My days were first and foremost spent doing wedding shopping for the upcoming engagement celebrations with our families, meeting friends and family scattered around the city and even some Bollywood celebrity spotting! Three very non-stop days. Just like Mumbai itself. Why haven’t I been back any sooner?
