For the past year, burger joints have been popping up around every nook and corner of London. Be it gourmet or fast-food, this American staple has officially taken over the city!
Five Guys opened its doors in London just less than a year ago along with another American burger giant, Shake Shack. Not a big deal for those across the pond but the opening of these two created quite the commotion amongst Londoners. With the first (super busy!) establishment in Covent Garden, a second just opened in Westfield Shepherd’s Bush about a week ago. Being a ten minute drive away, I obviously made my way to try the greasy goodness out for myself.
The walls are littered with rave reviews of the restaurant from across the pond and in London
Fancy some peanuts while you wait for your order?
There are four burgers on offer (in regular and small sizes) and you are given the option to add as many toppings as you want for free. I went for the Cheeseburger with tomato, lettuce, mushroom and hot sauce – and a side of regular Cajun style fries.
Like I said, greasy goodness!
In my opinion, Five Guys is worth a visit and great value for money but is it worth the hype? With the vast array of burger spots popping up around the city, I would say it definitely has some tough competition.
